It's our 10th Anniversary as a community library this October and we are hosting a series of celebratory events throughout the year incl. our annual scarecrow trail, a special 10th birthday raffle and a tea party for volunteers, past and present in October. We are also running a family village trail, maps available for £2 with clues that guide you around the village - answers and refreshments available back at the library!
To enter a scarecrow for our 2025 Rothley Village Scarecrow Trail on 20th and 21st September 2025 - you can complete this online registration form http://form.jotform.com/251656792851064 or pop into the library during opening hours and ask for a paper form.

Children's craft sessions are running every Saturday morning during the Summer Reading Challenge - no need to book, just pop along - £1 donation per child towards running costs of the library.

Every Wednesday afternoon during the summer holidays, an arts and crafts session will be held at the library. Come along and enjoy some creativity. It's only £1 which includes a drink and biscuit. All monies go towards supporting the library.
Every Thursday morning we hold an open coffee morning - all welcome. Why not come along and enjoy a friendly welcome. Hot drinks and biscuits with free refills are available for £1.00. All monies go towards supporting the library.

The book group meets once a month on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 7-8pm at the library. All are welcome. Just pop along or ask at the library for further details. A list of books selected for 2025 are displayed on a noticeboard near the large tables.
In August the group are reading the 'Convenience Store Woman' by Sayaka Murate & Ginny Talley. Keiko is 36 years old. She's never had a boyfriend and she's been working in the same supermarket for 18 years. Keiko's family and friends wonder why she will not get married. Keiko knows what makes her happy and will not let anyone get between her and the convenience store...
